We were worried about the weather, but were blessed with gorgeous weather. Blue skies, bright winter sun, and "warm" temperatures blessed our day. Eleanor wore my hat in the car because the sun was in her eyes. She was so cute pulling the hat up and down as the sun was in her eyes. Of course, a baby accompanied her on this trip. Baby didn't have warm clothes so she did stay in the car for our trip.
The skies were so clear that Denali and Sleeping Lady were visible. These views were the start of a wonderful afternoon.
Stephen was super excited about taking a sled dog ride. He and Matt went first. No fears, just excitement. He is my supertrooper!
Eleanor on the other hand . . . excitement about the prospect of taking a sled dog ride because Stephen was excited! Then, she saw the dogs and it was all over. She freaked out, then the dogs started howling which led to increased freaking out. I was determined. I was able to get her calmed down, but she was NOT excited to sit on a sled with mom. Fortunately the enjoyment of the ride was enough to overcome the fear of the dogs. By the end she was all smiles!
We survived our dog sled rides and loved them. It will be something we look forward to next year! And fortunately, the sled stayed upright through our journey. The person right after Eleanor and me took a spill.
More enjoyment came after we finished with our rides . . . ice fishing! Stephen was so enamored with the thought of ice fishing. I hope that next year he will be able to convince Matt to take him.
