Our destination was Temecula, CA - the SoCal wine country. We found a great hotel/resort to stay at with a dine tour through wine country. We went to five different wineries. It was fun to learn about each winery, their specialty wines, taste the different wines, and learn about each type of wine. Plus the weather was phenomenal! It was sunny and warm for February!
The first winery we went into the storage room. It had such a wonderful smell of oak. All of the stacked barrels were so impressive.
We hadn't made any friends yet, so we took our first "us" picture of the trip. A self portrait!
We quickly made friends during our first wine tasting. They were very happy to take our picture! It was nice to have a picture of us!
Vineyards amaze me. They are so organized and seem to go on forever. It is a beautiful site. I could have sat on that patio sipping a glass of wine all day while looking at these vineyards.
The next vineyard was one of the newest vineyards in the valley. The building was nothing to write home about, but the huge wooden doors were so beautiful. Plus the barrels outside provided a perfect backdrop for some pictures.
The third winery was the setting for our delicious lunch. It was one of the most established wineries in the valley. Matt and I met the owner and spent some time talking to her.
The last winery on the tour has a farm. Their theme is all about horses. Their special drink is a port shooter in a chocolate cowboy boot. So cute and so much fun!
Me with the bus that provided the transportation through the valley. What a great way to wine taste!
The view from our room the next morning. It was breathtaking waking up to a blue sky, rows of vines, and with the person I love the most!
The trip was perfect for us to spend some much needed time together! Thanks Grandpa and Gramma for letting us get away! We came back rejuvenated, rested, and relaxed!
