Stephen has wanted to watch a sunset and take pictures since we moved here. Since the sun is setting earlier now, it is much easier to oblige. Tonight after dinner we went up to Sandia Peak Tramway to watch the sunset. Both kids were armed with cameras (pictures yet to be downloaded) which made the time fun and exciting for them. It was still pretty sunny when we got up there which led to a great view.
I am definitely biased, but my kids are beautiful. They make my heart swell with joy each time I see their smiling faces. So thankful I was able to capture their closeness, love for each other, and cooperative spirits.
There is a beautiful garden at the base of the tram. I enjoy playing with the camera and got some fun pictures of the roses. The kids were also busy taking pictures of the flowers. Can't wait to see what they got. The sun was hitting the flowers in such a way that made them breathtaking.
Fall is already in the decorations, not necessarily in the air yet. The kids were happy to pose for me. These aren't the best picture of them, but Eleanor's poses made me laugh. She looks like a teenager with the iphone, hand on hip, and capris at different lengths. My little girl going on a teenager. The girls enjoying the sunset . . .
So thankful that Stephen wanted to go see a sunset! What a great way to spend an evening as a family. Next time we'll stay until it is dark to get a night view of the city (his next request).
On our way home, Stephen noticed a fire in the foothills. He recommended I call 911 to ensure they knew about the fire. Great eyes and a smart cookie! I called to report the fire and was assured that firemen were on their way out. It had been burning for about 20 minutes. It was impressive seeing it in the dark from the house, plus scary. So thankful that he has learned what to do in case of a fire and willing to help others.

Thanks for sharing your family adventure! It's so fun to see all you're doing so far away (from us). Have they started roasting the green chilis yet? That's always the signal for fall in ABQ. Enjoy!!
