The Mountain

We are trying to take advantage of our time off together. It is sometimes hard to motivate ourselves to get out when we have been working so hard. We loaded up the Subaru and decided to head up to see Denali (aka. Mt McKinley.) Stephen calls Denali "the mountain." We drove up to a resort on the way to Denali. What a beautiful view we had!


The kids enjoyed the warm weather and Stephen was able to run around. The resort had beautiful statues of animals that Stephen enjoyed running up to and playing on.



Then we headed down to Talkeetna. As luck would have it, the clouds rolled in that afternoon. Thankfully, we were able to get some good views of the mountain prior to the clouds rolling in. We stayed at a wonderful B&B in Talkeetna run by a family with young children. I am thankful we are taking time to slow down, forget about our to do's at home, and head out to see AK.

The day we went home, we took a hike at the convergence of three rivers in the Talkeetna area. Matt carried Stephen and I carried Eleanor. We ran across a wonderful stack of rocks that was so unatural, but not out of place! It was fun to be outside enjoying the wonderful beauty.
