Halibut

Matt and I recently had the opportunity to go deep sea fishing for halibut. There are few pictures from the actual experience. This time I was too sick to take a picture. There are a few from the boat ride in the harbor of the animals we saw. There were eagles, sea lions, otters, seals, humpback whales, orca's, and of course halibut!!

Sea lions

We both got two fish. Stephen was so proud of us. We both learned to clean up the fish, and vaccum packed them for later! So yummy to eat!

We went to Seward with another family we are becoming friends with. They have three kids (the youngest is Stephen's age) and he is a doctor at the base. We switched babysitting duties so we could all go halibut fishing. We all had a wonderful, and exhausting time. Again, part of experiencing Alaska and learning to provide for our family!! Even with getting sick, I loved the fishing!!!

Here are the kids in the backseat! They had a fabulous time playing on the way home. Mady and Stephen are like an old couple - they can't be away from each other, but fight all the time!

On the way home at our rest stop, Matt lost his sunglasses. When we got home, I found this:

The sunglasses had a nice ride home from the back of the car and safely made it.
