Grandma and Grandpa's visit

Grandma and Grandpa overlapped by 5 days. There was a scheduling error and school for Grandpa started earlier than initially thought.  (Next year, it starts later!!)  So, Grandpa came up early and Grandma stuck to the initial plan.  We went to the Nature Center, ate well, relaxed, played with the kids, caught up, played Pinochle, and enjoyed each other's company.  The highlight of course was seeing them play with Stephen and Eleanor.

Grandpa, Grandma, and Eleanor -
Stephen was busy playing.  He's 2 and pictures are boring!

Our big outing was to the Eagle River Nature Center.  We enjoyed looking at the beaver dams.  The highlight of the trip was seeing the spawning salmon.  We spent 20 minutes watching the salmon spawning.  The males fighting over the females, swimming around to find the right place to lay eggs, and swimming upstream.  It was so cool to watch Stephen so enthralled by the salmon.

Enjoying a family hike!

We took advantage of having an extra pair of hands around to take pictures.  Dennis captured this moment of father and daughter while mother and son played frisbee.
