Last night we had our first family "date" since arriving in New Mexico. After a day filled with working on the house, we went on out for yogurt and then continued our evening with baseball game. With all of our visitors and unpacking, the 4 of us have not had the opportunity to do a fun local activity together. This weekend is the last weekend of games for the local Triple-A farm team for the season. We decided that would be a perfect activity. A bonus was the fireworks after the game.
The Isotopes are a farm team for the LA Dodgers. With the history of Albuquerque, we thought the Isotopes was a very fitting name. They used to be the Albuquerque Dukes, but that team moved to another city and took the name too. So, when a team returned to Albuquerque the name search was on. The name that was chosen actually came from "The Simpsons." The Springfield Isotopes were moving to Albuquerque in one of the episodes.
My family walking to the stadium . . .
Another bonus last night was seeing the beautiful sunset!
Stephen went to an Oakland A's game when he was 4 months old, but neither Stephen or Eleanor has been to a baseball game that they remember. They had a blast! Stephen was into the game and understood what was going on. Eleanor enjoying the music and dancing around. It was a late night for all, and she kept going and going. Until we hit the car, she was asleep before we got home.
Stephen singing America the Beautiful. He wanted his hat in his hand during the song, not just his hand over his heart. So precious.
Final score . . . 8-3. Go Topes! They had a great 7th inning!
The fireworks after the game were great. The kids both enjoyed the fireworks, even though they were a bit loud per Eleanor. We sat in the right outfield in the grass which gave us perfect seats for the fireworks show.

Hurray for family outings that get everyone out from under the piles of boxes! And your family picture in the Yogurt post is GREAT! Enjoy the warmer temps this winter--I'm sure you already are!
You were happy to be just the four of you....without me?
I'm confused
:)
