Our dinnertime conversation while talking about advent and the birth of Christ:
Me: Where were you born?
SJ: Ohio
Me: Where in Ohio?
SJ: In a hospital
Me: You were born in Dayton, Ohio.
SJ: I just say a hospital.
Me: Where was Jesus born?
SJ: Not a hospital. He was born in a nativity. That is another name for a barn. No place to stay. So they stayed in a barn. A man said he had a barn, so that is where they stayed and Mary had her baby.
Me: How do you think Mary and Joseph felt when they had to stay in a barn?
SJ: Sad
Me: What do Mary and Joseph have to be happy about once they arrived in Jerusalem?
SJ: Baby Jesus
Me: What do you have to be joyful for?
SJ: God made me feel better. That Jesus was born and the wisemen and shepherds came to visit and give him presents. There are no shepherds in our nativity. Only three wisemen. We need shepherds for our nativity
